Tortilla of potatoes

Spanish tortilla de patatas

Ingredients for 4 persons
- 3 big potatoes or 5 small.
- 1 onion
- 5 eggs
- 300ml olive oil
- salt

  1. Peel the potatoes
  2. Cut the potatoes into pieces from about 1 cm
  3. Cut the onion into smaller pieces (approx 0.5cm)
  4. Add salt to taste
  5. Put enough olive oil to fry the potatoes and the onion in a frying pan
  6. When the oil is hot add the onions and potatoes and let them cook medium-low heat
    ¡ It is important that they are well cooked on the inside and not only fried on the outside!
  7. Mix the eggs in a separate bowl
  8. Take the potatoes and the onions out of the frying pan
  9. Mix the potatoes and the onions with the eggs                             
  10. Remove the oil from the pan (the oil can be reused for other times)
    You don´t have to clean the pan but reuse the pan with the small amount of oil that is left.
    Put the fire high
  11. Pour the mixture of the eggs with the onion and the potatoes in the pan
  12. Leave it for 3 minutes maximum in the pan
  13. With the help of a plate turn the tortilla around (see video)
  14. Put the tortilla again into the pan
  15. Leave the tortilla for 2 minutes in the pan
  16. Turn the tortilla again on a plate to serve
